Before anyone asks, yes I've searched and I'm still stuck.

What I want to do is add my ati kext to my maxxuss patched 10.4.5 dvd. Everything I found when searching said to just add it to the extensions folder on the dvd. I don't see one, I only see the Extensions.mkext. I've replaced that with one from my working setup but now I'm stuck. Anyone know where/how to put it on the dvd?

please.

If someone could find the time to answer, or to direct to the proper thread, I can't find the solution either. I downloaded the 10.4.5 prepatched DVD, which appears not to boot with the AppleVIAATA.kext enabled, since it can't find my SATA drive, where I'd like to install 10.4.5. I need to add that kext and reburn, but I can't find the instructions on so doing. Help would be very much appreciated.

I know I've seen the solution to this someplace. DVD patching wizards, JAS, Pianoman, etc... hear our plea. I've now wasted 3 days trying to find the solution.

P.S. - Antman, what good is a sound kext in an installer? PS2, ATA, etc... but I'm pretty sure that there's no sound in the install process anyway. You should be able to slip it in after the fact using well documented methods in the wiki, i.e. put kext in extensions folder then chown and chmod kext in terminal. I can't figure out the AppleVIAATA.kext thing, though. If I install on an ata drive I can chown & chmod the kext (which is installed by the installer) to view the drive, but I really want to put it on the SATA with my other OSes, and the installer doesn't see it.

I too am looking for this solution so I can add my AppleVIAATA.kext and my Sound kext and modified Darwin kexts to my installer.. This would be great to find out..

it all depends on the type of sound card you have and if it is supported. I was told we would have to create a package that will install during boot. is there anyone out there that can help me to know how to create this package that will do all of this for me as well as install during installation?
