Midoe
Hey guys, I want to buy an iPhone 3G without a contract and im willing to pay the $699 price. As I have read from many sources and blogs, I found out that the apple store does sell it without a contract but when I went to the apple store in Downtown SF and the one in Stones town, SF I was told that i have to get it with a contract and that they dont sell it without a contract. I now moved to Colorado and I called the apple store today, the one in denver, asking them if they sell it without a contract and their answer was no. Im not sure where I can get it without a contract, any ideas? Note: I dont want to buy one from ebay, its just that i dont trust ebay that much! Berzerker
As of now, AT&T has not announced any plans to sell the iPhone 3G without a contract. The $599/$699 no-commitment pricing is just a rumor at this point...and I doubt it will be a reality. On eBay: There's nothing really not to trust, if you pay for something and don't get confirmation within a week or your product within 2 weeks, you're entitled for the full amount of money back. Just out of curiosity, what are you going to use the phone with? You can't 3G with T-Mobile because it runs on different UMTS bands. Midoe
Actually its not a rumor. Many people bought it for 699 or 799 such as cmw who's the developer of winpwn. The tool you use to pwn the iphone using windows. He wrote on his blog that he bought the 3G iPhone without a contract from the Apple store in NY. I'm planning to unlock it and then send it to my brother in Kuwait. I'm an international student here =) Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/119168-where-to-buy-iphone-3g-wo-a-contract/#findComment-843983 Share on other sites
