nephew
Hi everyone, Hopefully somebody will be able to shed some light on a rather shady area I'm in at the moment. I'm currently running Kalyway 10.5.2 after an upgrade from 10.5.1 on an intel P4 HT desktop. I'd like to get myself up to 10.5.4 to enable me to use the iPhone What is the safest way to upgrade? I'm confused as I've read several guides all using different versions and methods. Am I able to upgrade straight to 10.5.4? What version should I use and are there any guides for it that outline the whole process for a noob? Thanks a bunch in advance! Its pretty screwed up now and still only booting in safemode Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/118535-quick-question-regarding-updates/#findComment-840307 Share on other sites
nephew
I managed to fudge my install and have gone for a fresh one. After hours of trying to get the right drivers (Now written down!!!) Do i need to do anything to insure that everything updates correctly? I assume that fresh install is a mac in prime condition to upgrade? In theory i should just able to install update after update with no fuss? Is there anything I should know before I attempt this? MacNutty
I tried Kalyway but got stuck with QE / graphics problem. I tried JaS 10.5.3 update and it works great without any problem. Then i installed the 10.5.4 update from apple using the steps mentioned in this forum. Now I have up-to-date hackintosh. SupraBlur
Out of curiousity, why did you need 10.5.4 in order to use your iPhone? I've been syncing fine with 10.5.2 and the latest iTunes. I even run a jailbroken firmware 2.0 -Ray Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/118535-quick-question-regarding-updates/#findComment-842083 Share on other sites
