ImBoReDx14
Hi, I am just installing OSx86 for the first time on my computer, but I keep getting stuck on the same section of installation. I have an SATA drive, which I know isn't a good thing, but I really can't afford a PATA drive right now. Is there ANY way to get OSx86 installed on my SATA drive? I'm not sure how to find out what brand of hard drive I have, but it's a 250GB harddrive with three partitions. One, Windows XP, two, Windows Vista, three, HP Recovery Partition. Help is GREATLY appreciated. Oh, and I have the 10.4.4 installation DVD, not the 10.4.5 DVD. Thanks in advance! thrunner
How to ask questions in this forum http://forum.osx86project.org/index.php?showtopic=11517 You might get more answers if you just post your hardware. If you don't know your hardware, try everesthome220.exe, freeware. http://www.google.com/search?q=everesthome220.exe Press any key or F8 for bootmenu on bootup and type -v (for verbose) and copy down or take a picture of the error messages. ImBoReDx14
Well I get as far as where it asks what drive I want to install Mac OS X on, and my drive doesn't show up. I'll try the program you posted and repost my drive information. Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/11834-confused/#findComment-74242 Share on other sites
dilnalomo
Well I get as far as where it asks what drive I want to install Mac OS X on, and my drive doesn't show up. I'll try the program you posted and repost my drive information. When the OSX installer comes up, go to Utilities->Disk Utility. Use it to convert your extended partition into a Mac OS Extended (Journaled) partition. it will show up. ImBoReDx14
Well, I just attempted a reinstall. No luck. I get the same problem. I ran that program, and I'm using a Seagate Barracuda, need any more information? I tried to use the Disk Utility, but my DVD drive and the installation DVD are the only drives that show up. I've followed multiple guides step-by-step, and have had no success, this is getting frustrating. :\ Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/11834-confused/#findComment-75028 Share on other sites
