adamworthy
Hi, I've just bought a Mac Mini with 1gb RAM and was wondering which RAM is in the Mac Mini as I think I could probably upgrade it to 2gb cheaper than Apple (£60). Thanks in Advance. EDIT: Another thing, what is the maximum RAM i can put in it? vbetts
There is no such thing really as dell ram, or hp ram. There's just, ram. Now there are different types of ram, but it's still ram none the less. Just as long as you can get the ram that the Mac mini takes. You're fine. EDIT: Another thing, what is the maximum RAM i can put in it? i'm not exactly sure on the max ram....i have a mac mini and i upgraded it to 2gb....it really doesn't matter to much what kind of ram you put in it. My brother has one and we put dell ram in it at one point and whatever HP puts in there laptops. as long as you get laptop ram you should be ok. Cave Man
EDIT: Another thing, what is the maximum RAM i can put in it? A Core Duo Mini can take 2x1 gig sticks, while the Core 2 Duo Minis can take 2x2 gig sticks (for 3.1 gb available RAM). You can do 2 gig + 1 gig in a C2D, but you lose dual-channel performance (loss of about 5% speed).
