Inverted
I found that my network card (Netgear FA311) works in 10.4.3, but not in 10.4.4, so I was wondering if someone could send me 10.4.3's IONetworkingFamily.kext. I found the torrent for the entire extensions folder on PirateBay, but it's not connecting to the tracker. Could someone just post it here or email it to me? Inverted
Ar, problem. I found it and copied it over, but now when I boot I get the screen that says "You need to reboot..." I used the -v option, and it said that I'm missing IOPCIFamily.kext. Any way I can do this without reinstalling? Inverted
Okay, I copied over 10.4.3's IONetworkingFamliy.kext and IOPCIFamily.kext, repaired permissions, and did the chmod and chown commands, but get this error when I boot: Backtrace terminated-invalid frame pointer 0x0 Kernel loadable modules in backtrace (with dependencies): com.apple.driver.AppleDP83816Ethernet(1.1.0)@0x24350000 dependency: com.apple.iokit.IONetworkingFamily(1.5.0)@0x2a2f3000 dependency: com.apple.iokit.IOPCIFamily(1.9)@0x2414f000 Is this saying that the Apple Ethernet driver needs the 10.4.4 versions of those two kexts to work? If so, or if not, what can I do to fix this? Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/11760-need-1043-extensions/#findComment-74314 Share on other sites
mainecrab
I dont the solution but I have the same problem when I try to use my realtek nic. I get the same error on those two kext. I am not sure what it means, that the IONetworking isnt working right? Or the IOPCIFamily isnt working right? I replaced both with 10.4.3 and still no go. I think it is not detecting my PCI because any card either does not get detected or does and gives that error, or does and just does not work at all. I hope someone knows a solutions, the network problem has been my only real problem. Inverted
yes!!!! my 3com905 is now working =) I'm just curious, how'd you manage to get it working? Whenever I try replacing the kext and do all the terminal commands people tell me, I get a kernel panic at boot.
