Just make a search with the engine and you will find There's no miracle tips or receipt to work i'm going to have to completely agree with this -- there is no 100% working way to do this -- if you are running intel i would recommend getting a copy of the kalyway.DVD 10.5.2 -- checking you ACPI installing the proper bundles and .kexts for your hardware -- there isn't going to be a perfectly working machine out of the box unless you have customized it to be this way -- after you get the kaly dvd -- get the 10.5.3 update -- the reason you need this update is because 10.5.3 introduces a new kernel darwin 9.3.0 -- follow all instructions given and this should get you to a 10.5.3 installation -- after this you should be able to update without a problem to 10.5.4 -- since there is no kernel update involved -- this is the only way i can recommend for an intel based machine you will find that most things will work -- but somethings are *known* problems and unless you are familiar with writing .kexts (no offense doesn't seem like you are) than you cannot expect it to work OOB -- the nature of this movement osx86 is that we are working on our own components and hoping that other people will benefit from the .kexts that are being put out -- people aren't going to randomly work on other peoples .kexts off the bat -- hope this helps respectfully, -jt Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/117506-how-to-install-100-working-leopard/#findComment-832490 Share on other sites More sharing options...

coolied Posted July 24, 2008 Share Posted July 24, 2008 after this you should be able to update without a problem to 10.5.4 -- since there is no kernel update involved Not trying to be petty, but this is NOT the reason the update to 10.5.4 is safe (for Vanilla kernel users anyways, it's not safe for modded kernel users) as there is definitely a kernel update. Mine went from 9.3.0 to 9.4.0 after the update. http://netkas.org/?p=50 read the above, the kexts he mentions (AppleIntelCPUpowermanagement.kext and 'Dont Steal Mac OS X.kext') aren't installed/modified with the 10.5.4 update, and THAT is why it is safe for vanilla kernel users on Core2Duo processors. If the Apple..... kext is installed, it kernel panics (I believe because something with the ACPI implementation is different on a real Mac); if the Don't steal.... kext is installed on a non-Mac, the security check during boot will cause it to hang. I believe the dsmos.kext that replaces this file on a Hack basically cheats the OS into thinking the security check has been passed. disclaimer: I may be wrong about some/most/all of this, I am a newb and am basically passing on what i've gathered from reading these forums.
