hi,

My mac has any problem with video sincronization, I'll carry it to the apple support, but my question is not arround here.

Actually it works with an Radeon HD 2600 PRO de ATI- 256 MB but in apple service, are they able to upgrade mac changing the grapphic card to a best one? Like that model NVIDIA GeForce 8800 GS - 512 MB, this nvidia is used in 24'', but I don't know if the technicians 've got a version of this card for 20'' mac...

thank you

In short, no. It's not possible. You could do it in theory but it'd terminate your warranty and there's no guarantee it'd work and then you'd have to pay for Apple to repair it and switch graphic cards backs.

But I should get a product warranty, no?

And I hope to get a sane computer... because i carried it there 2 times in warranty time... audio wasn't good, because Hard Disk was broken... And it should be revised at least 2 or 3 times...

Well I'm not sure if you personally should get a protection plan. I personally have one.

It does use MXM as all these generation of Imacs use, you can try it, but there's no guarantee it'll work.

this is not my preocupation, because if it don't work, the guy from the apple center should test before give me the computer.. and if it doesn't work they must install the old grapphic card, that anyway it's not ok! i make horizontal lines of sync.. and it's little slow... next week i'll carry the computer.

thank you all, i'll let you know what happens with a better grapphic card in iMac 20''

Oh, you want them to upgrade it.

It is possible, but you would have to pay for the upgrade if they offered it, or if you would to ask them to.(And that's IF) If it's just the video card, they'll just replace the video card with the same model.

Actually, look at this post.

I just purchased an apple 7600GT 256 meg card and installed it without issue. They are available at mac-resource.com for around $235 after shipping which was overnight. Great people as well. Hope this helps.
