My Powerbook finally died so me and my brother thought it would be best if i ordered a Dell Vostro. Did i make a good choice or should i choose a macbook and waited for it. I ordered a farly good spec core 2 duo 1gb ram and only £350 thats wat made it tempting to me. Did i make a good choice? Are there any people that own vostros out there if so what are they like?

Thanks in Advance

D.

Dell Vostro works well, you can run OSx86 on it just fine with iAtkos Leopard for PC's, but it takes a little work. For a full guide check out Macgirl's thread (if it looks a little daunting, don't worry, it's not so bad).

Have you already bought the PC? I would recommend at least 2gb RAM, but it's not a deal-killer. As for whether it's better than the Macbook? Well each has it's positives and negatives. The Macbook will have a slimmer and smaller design, a longer battery life, and of course work perfectly with no effort. But the Dell is a nice laptop.
