Hi guys,

I'm trying to get OS X Leopard running on an Asus P5V-VM SE DH motherboard, however the Disk Utility in the installer doesn't detect my SATA 350gig HDD. I've tried kalyway 10.5.2 and iATKOS v4 but I get the same problem on both.

I've seem a few threads about SATA incompatability and editing kexts and stuff like that but it doesn't seem clear enough to me.

Can anyone help me out?

Also, I have access to OS X Leopard on my macbook if I need to use it for anything.

As your motherboard is based on VIA chipset, you may need thestevo's patch ver 4.5. It is available in the forums and that patches the Kalyway 10.5.2 ISO and will create a new image. The new image should work correctly for your motherboard.

I tried thestevo's patch, and it was able to detect my HDD. After installation however the computer restarts, and then freezes during the loading grey apple screen, and a NO symbol appears on the screen.

Any ideas on what to do next?

actually, all should be well. I rebooted and used -v and it worked. All seems well except for sound so far.

Thanks InsanelyMac, Kalyway, TheStevo and Gujal!
