joblack
Have tried it under an AMD Thunderbird (2500+) machine. Doesn´t work, after some booting there comes some writings: This hardware configuration is not supported by Darwin/X86. I´ve found that this string is found at Binary file usr/standalone/i386/boot matches Binary file usr/standalone/i386/cdboot matches That means the first check is made in one (or both) of the files. Stratus Fear
It requires hacking to get anything to load on a non-sse3 processor. It can be done, but it's difficult (I'm still working on it but have made nice progress on an Athlon 64/nForce3 machine -- no vmware!). On that note, though, if your processor doesn't even have SSE2 (let alone SSE at all) then it's most likely not going to ever work. You'll need AT LEAST an sse2 processor and have enough knowhow to hack some files. cajuncoon
they did a good job doing it too they new the first place people would look was at the cdboot and boot file and open it in a text editor so they made it look like it was coming from there so i deleted the whole usr/i386 dir and the non folder files in the main folder and it still booted that i was like wtf that wasnt posed to work plus i was disappointed spending all night trying to hybrid it with darwin and it was fake all along Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/117-mac-os-x-under-amd-thunderbird/#findComment-1203 Share on other sites
niteice
Actually (this is true for BSD too), /usr/standalone contains the boot programs and the code which is installed to the MBR/bootsector.
