I don't know if this is relevant (or it has relevance), but...

Been a PCI_EFI (or Netkas EFI) user since early this year (when I tried OSX86 on my PC). Now, I want to try the new Chameleon EFI. But before deciding which I would use everyday, I made few benchies. And the result:

Geekbench (round 1)

Chameleon EFI

Netkas EFI

gbench_1%20(pc_efi).png

Geekbench (round 2)

Chameleon EFI

gbench_2%20(chameleon).png

Netkas EFI

gbench_2%20(pc_efi).png

Xbench (round 1)

Chameleon EFI

Netkas EFI

Xbench (round 2)

Chameleon EFI

System specs:

Intel Little Falls (Intel D945CGLF) - GMA950@1440x900

OSX 10.5.4 Retail

Chameleon 1.0.11

PC_EFI V8

Test sequence:

====Round 1====

PC_EFI

- Xbench

- Geekbench

Chameleon EFI

- Xbench

- Geekbench

====Round 2====

Chameleon EFI

- Geekbench

- Xbench

PC_EFI

- Geekbench

- Xbench

PC_EFI (Netkas) scores few points higher either in round 1 or round 2. Chameleon, on the other hand is open source and offers more features. mmm... was a bit confused. But since I've been using PC_EFI, I'll just keep this for now.

To emphasize, this is not a thread of which is better. Just sharing what these benchmark tools gave me. Overall, we are in win-win situation because we have one more choice to pick from.

I dont think that the diffenent EFI´s can have any effect to benchmarks.

Maybe there are some little effects by using Vaniila kerner vs Patched Kernel - but even that will be (if patched kernel works right!) not have an effekt > 5% (below 5% its in the measure +/-).

If you run benches, there will be always , even same HW+SW config a liitle difference running them often.

Yeah. I thought so too! That's why in the very first line, I put if it has relevance or not. I'm just posting the actual result.

Alles klar!
