Epickfail
My Acer Aspire 5315-2122 (laptop) fan doesn't run while Leopard (iAtkos Vanilla) is running. The fan doesn't work at all while Leopard is running. The fan works fine in the Bios, in windows xp, and in the Darwin Bootloader. But, as soon as Leopard starts loading the fan stops working. How can I get the fan working? Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/116792-laptop-fan-not-running-after-osx-install/ Share on other sites

delirumhappy
Some people have had success by deleting AppleACPIThermal.kext Thanks for the tip! Is it located in "/System/Library/Extensions/AppleACPIPlatform.kext" ? Gujal
Yep, thats the main kext. you will find ACPIThermal under Plugins folder. Only delete(or rather move it out to /Backup) ACPIThermal, not the other plugins. Remember to boot with -f afterwards to rebuild the kextcache Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/116792-laptop-fan-not-running-after-osx-install/#findComment-828543 Share on other sites
