Need Recom: Small-ish, cheap-ish, compatible, Core2duo

Hi,

I'm looking to build my first osx86 box, and need some recommendations on hardware. I want to put a modest, small but highly-compatible system together.

I'd love to get some advice.

Priorities:

  1. Compatibility is a must. (I'd like to install from my leopard disc and be able to do automatic updates. I want very little "fiddling" on the install)
  2. Nice small case. Minimalistic design (no colored LEDs and swoopy curves. Size between mac mini size and a small tower)
  3. Intel Core2duo level performance. (2.4ghz would be nice.)
  4. Firewire
  5. Graphics Card, modest requirements (non-gamer)
  6. Cheap-ish

That's it. Thanks in advance.

the e8400 has some nice ram bundles at newegg.com which drops the price in the combo pack by another 15-20 bucks. plus everyone raves about how easily the e8400 overclocks.

UPDATE: Didn't really have time to pull the trigger on this (Work, Life), but I did a little more reading and I'm leaning toward this setup, which is based on the most compatible motherboard I could find on osx86project.org's hardware computability list.

Feel free to jump in with advice. :)
