I've always wanted to give .Mac (now MobileMe) a spin but if I really start to get into using it, I'm going to rely on it because it's really sexy. All my Macs are whiteboxes, OSx86. Are there any of you out there using your accounts daily on hacks without any issues? No strange apple.com connections to throw a red flag up?

I assume since we're all using Software Update that .Mac/MobileMe would be the least of our worries as far as Apple knowing that we're not paying premium prices for the Apple logo.

Your thoughts? Thanks.

Erm...wouldn't MobileMe make connections to apple.com anyway because it is web based??

Right, it will. My question was, since we're already using Software Update, would using .Mac/MobileMe be any more of a risk since the Apple EULA states that we can only install Leopard on Apple hardware?

Using MobileMe is fine on Hackint0shes... you're paying to use their service.. do you honestly think they're going to hunt you down for paying a yearly fee to them? As long as you pay the bills, they don't care what you use to connect to it..
