MutantSushi Posted July 6, 2008 Share Posted July 6, 2008 I'm looking at both of these models (Compaq Presario C762NR, Acer Extensa EX5620-4025) as they're both around $400 and have Core2Duo CPUs with 1Gig RAM. They both have X3100 Intel graphics (I can't find compatability info for this on the Wiki) but I haven't been able to find out other specific components (WiFi, Ethernet chips, etc...) I'd like to hear what compatability I could expect with these, and if one is 'better' than the other. Also, any thoughts on the best patch/version of OSX to install on them? It sounds like there is a new bootloader(?) that lets you boot retail Apple disc if you want, but also lets you apply Apple's own point updates thru Software Update without re-install (?) Thanks!!!
