Al X And Er
PLEASE don't skip this i desperately need help I have no idea what to do: I have currently got about 24 hours to fix my friends computer before he needs it (requires, no exceptions ). He installed Kalyway 10.5.2, (with my support, that's why he's saying I have to fix it) and there have been many issues. First of all, Windows Vista is stationed on the first partition (there is only one hard drive by the way). D Drive did contain documents and files but we deleted the partition to make a third one for OS X. After we did this, we booted onto the Kalyway installation, and erased The third partition only for Mac OS X and called it Leopard. We erased It with Mac OS X Journaled or what ever it is. We then installed, it said install successfully. We then clicked restart, and the PC restarted. We were instantly welcomed by 'H00000000' at the top and then about two spaces down was 'HFS+ partition error' I have used Ultimate Boot CD which I use often to do things like fixing my computer when the OS isn't available, and I always use it to change parititons and make different ones active. I booted into Ultimate Boot CD, and tried to change the partition except it said that Access was denied because my computer didn't have enough priveleges. I followed online guides saying to do things like Boot into OS X with my OS X CD, every time I try this, it starts showing all the startup code stuff then it stops at usually either: 'ACPI_SMC_CtrlLoop::initCPUCtrlLoop – pmCPUControl (PMIOCSETPSTATETABLE) returned 0xffffffff' or 'ApplePS2Trackpad: Synaptics TouchPad v6.3' I cannot boot into OS X to try and change partition information! By the way, incase I can use them, these are the ONLY cd's I have and I can't really get any more: Kalyway Leopard 10.5.2 DVD, iatkos 1.0 DVD (I also tested booting up with this, stopped at the same area, left it for hours with both DVD's, nothing happened), Windows XP Professional DVD, Windows Vista Ultimate DVD and Ultimate Boot CD. BY THE WAY, IN ULTIMATE BOOT CD (technically bootable and portable copy of windows with heaps of tools) NO PARTITIONS CAME UP WHATSO EVER, NOT EVEN MY VISTA DRIVE (C:) or MY DATA DRIVE (D:) I hope this hasn't erased all data PLEASE DON'T SKIP PAST THIS POST I HAVE LESS THAN 24 HOURS TO FIX THIS AND I REQUIRE TO! ALSO, PLEASE DON'T RECOMMEND ME TO SAY TO HIM TO GET IT FIXED SOMEWHERE ELSE BECAUSE I CAN'T Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/114220-boot-issue-with-kalyway-1052/ Share on other sites
U.C.
Heres what I suggest. 1) Get the drive out of the computer, and install in computer with working windows 2) Install Partition Table Doctor 3) This has always helped me recover partitions 4) If this does not work, though I am sure it will, try Active@Undelete 5) Also do things patiently and calmly, coz else you will just end up destroying the data. Al X And Er
right........managed to restore all data inc. windows using GParted and more. in vista i've installed EasyBCD to try to boot into OS X, and it had a cool option which fixed the HFS+ Partition Error, so now I can at least OPEN OS X. Now, the only problem is, that when i go into OS X it gets stuck on the apple splash logo, it doesn't even show the spinning thing. any recommendations> Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/114220-boot-issue-with-kalyway-1052/#findComment-808836 Share on other sites

Al X And Er
ok, it stops at 'USBF: 0.557 acquireOSOwnership done - value 0x1000001' it boots fine off dvd Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/114220-boot-issue-with-kalyway-1052/#findComment-808840 Share on other sites
Chris Mills
ok, it stops at 'USBF: 0.557 acquireOSOwnership done - value 0x1000001'it boots fine off dvd May I suggest that this being a friends machine, you reformat the OS X partition in NTFS and return it to him fixed. If he doesn't know enough about computers to do this himself without guidance, then I would suggest OSX86 isn't for him. I know that's harsh, but hackintoshes need someone who is savvy with computers and not afraid to reformat the whole drive where necessary. If he really wants to try Mac OS X he could do worse than pick up an old G4 from eBay and play around with that. Al X And Er
probbaly a better idea lol i think i will do tht mind you i'm gonna give my laptop a try at installing it, it's a pretty similar laptop, acer travelmate 3290, my friends is a travelmate 6292. so if the same error comes up on mine what do you think i should do? because now for some reason my friends won't boot of the dvd either so i'm gonna delete osx and just leave him with vista. Chris Mills
Have a look at the Wiki and through the forum. I run a Toshiba myself so can't advise too much on an Acer. However I have had most things working on my laptop. I am sure there are plenty of people who have documented their experiences.
