Jash Sayani
I have iATKOS installedon my notebook HD and on my External HD. I cannot boot from my HD as theres some HD kext missing so it keeps rebooting at the grey apple boot screen. However, I have installed it on my external SATA and updated the MBR for rdisk1 (My external HD), but still while booting, it shows MacHD (0,1) which means its on HD 0 (Internal) and Partition 1. So, how do I boot from my external Harddrive..? Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/113987-iatkos-boot-from-external-drive/ Share on other sites

Jash Sayani
Well, I cant remove my internal HD, opening the notebook voids the warranty. I need to boot through it with the USB connection. Any way I can do this....? Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/113987-iatkos-boot-from-external-drive/#findComment-810185 Share on other sites

So, how do I boot from my external Harddrive..? When you first start up your computer, you'll see something about pressing an F key for Start Up options (on my laptop it's F12, yours may be different). That takes you to the BIOS screen, where you can select which disk to start up from, and set the order of preference if you'd like. Anyway, you should see your external drive there, so just select that and it should then boot. Feel free to PM me if you have questions. Best of luck.
