Branndon
I have a good ATA drive I copied to an SATA disc that I would like to get booting. Right now with out any CD in the drive, I get a system disc error. If I leave the install DVD in the drive, it will start booting from the SATA drive, but halts after an ATA message and shows "still waiting for root device" message over and over. I have searched this site (which by the way has WAY too many threads lol) and searched google, posting is my last resort, but I would like to see if anyone has an easy fix? Thanks! Gujal
Your motherboard uses nForce 430 chipset. Read Mysticus C's detailed post on how to install OSX on machines equipped with nForce chipsets such as your machine. That post concentrates more on Intel CPU, but it should give you an idea of the chipset drivers SATA IDE etc Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/113517-getting-my-sata-to-boot-i-am-using-a-disc-copy/#findComment-805015 Share on other sites
Branndon
Thank you for detailing the chipset! I didn't know, and thanks again for pointing me in the right direction. You're a great help.
