uPod
Well after trying and re-trying to install Kalyway 10.5.1 I started searching on the forum for another release that might work. I was reading in another thread that the JaS release is the best for older hardware as this is what the developers focus on. Here is my hardware: Manufacturer Hewlett-Packard Model 309D Version 52.0C Chipset Vendor Intel Corporation Chipset Model 82915PM/GM/GMS, 82910GML Host Bridge South Bridge 82801FBM (ICH6M) LPC Interface Bridge SMBus Intel Corporation 82801FB (ICH6) SMBus Controller @18A0h CPU Intel Pentium M Cpu Socket Socket 479 [u1] Processor Upgrade Slot 1 Max CPU Speed 1866 MHz System Slots 1 PCMCIA OnBoard devices Video (Enabled) 64 Memory Summary Location System board or motherboard Maximum Capacity 3072 MBytes Memory Slots 2 Error Correction None Use System memory CPU Instruction MMX, SSE, SSE2 Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/113441-will-jas-osx86-1052-intel-sse2-work-with-my-hardware/ Share on other sites

newbmac
Why not install and see? FYI, you don't have a Core processor so you likely can't use Vanilla kernels. Also, 10.5.2 is a nicer installer suggest you upgrade Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/113441-will-jas-osx86-1052-intel-sse2-work-with-my-hardware/#findComment-803471 Share on other sites
uPod
Yah I would like to download it, but I have a limit on my downloads and don't want to waste a chunk for something that won't work. What do you mean by vanilla kernels? Do you mean I will have to use an edited distribution? gizmoarena
You have to use SSE2 patch. Keep it in mind, and choose it when installing. I do not have much idea about JaS 10.5.2 installer. But it is supposed to have this patch. As you do not have SSE3, you cannot do normal installation. That is the point. Besides that, do not choose Vanilla kernel, that won't work either.
