Very strange, system profiler shows "No Audio Device" yet I still have volume control and the output device is shown as ac97.

Using a LANPARTY UT nF4 Ultra-D motherboard. (Realtek ALC850)

Problem I have, the sound is tempermental and works only when it wants to.

Has anyone else seen or have this problem. I don't have the dev ID handy right now, I will post it later.

Thanks though

Chris

Hi, I just installed Kalyway 10.5.2 last night on my new Hackintosh(first successful install I've had) and I have the same problem except the audio seems to work fine all the time with no glitches, although I've only been running the system for about 24 hours it hasn't given me any trouble. But nevertheless, the system profiler reads "No Built-in Audio." Yet in sound preferences the output reads "HD Audio Output." I left the default audio drivers on when installing Kalyway. No complaints here, just an observation. My motherboard is a Gigabyte GA-EP35-DS3R 775 P35. Hope this gets resolved.

Ok, just a small update.

When switching applications (iTunes to Frontrow.. ect) the audio comes out a different port.

There are a total of three different ports (out of the 6) So I have to unplug from one and "find" where the audio is coming from.

Audio will switch between Black, Green and Orange.

Straaaaaange huh?
