I can confirm shutdown works 100% when chagning from 4 cores to single core before shutdown (1 simple, extra step) from the drop down menu. 2. S1 state sleep mode works perfect 3. S3 works if I set to SINGLE CORE, and than it goes to sleep... no mouse/keyboard when it wake up though. I just set it to S1 state which seems to work just fine. Fans keep running, but cpu/HDD/Video are off. Good stuff! I know for sure I will have to work regularyly with 50+mb files simultaneously. I'm thinking of this: CPU: Intel Core 2 Quad Q9300 Processor (LGA775, 2.5GHz, 6M L2 Cache, 1333MHz FSB, 45nm,with cooler) Not sure if you have already purchased the CPU, but you can get an Intel Q9450 with ECS motherboard combo for $249 at Fry's. The Intel Core 2 Quad 9450 is the 45 nm, 2.66 Ghz processor. The motherboard will sell on eBay and basically pay the taxes. Not bad considering that processor sells for $329 alone right now on Newegg. Oops, I see you already got it working...
