PixlNinja Posted June 15, 2008 Share Posted June 15, 2008 I have tried some OS X Leopard x86 releases.. And It shows the 'Still waiting for root device' error.. I think its because of my IDE DVD Drive I am not an Advanced user thats why I am asking for a prebuilt DVD that suits my PC config... Can anyone show me a DVD that boots on IDE drive ? Gunner Posted June 15, 2008 Share Posted June 15, 2008 I used the Kalyway 10.5.2 DVD and i have an IDE drive. It installed fine, and I burn DVDs all the time in OS X successfully. It might not be your DVD drive either, but maybe a compatibility issue with your drive controller, or your model of drive. The only way to tell is to just try different hardware until something works. SATA DVD drives are very cheap these days, you might just want to go buy one if you can afford it. BigPimpin Posted June 15, 2008 Share Posted June 15, 2008 I have installed Leo4All, Kalyway and iATKOS from an IDE DVD drive. They all worked. The problem lies elsewhere as Gunner says. There is some other compatibility issue at play.
