SStreet
Well, two things to try, maxmem=2048 and cpus=1 maxmem is a must when using the nforce SATA driver (it's got some hard to pin down bug on 64bit transfers...) and to make it completely stable, the scheduler with nforce boards doesn't seem to cope with multiple CPUS. And as far as getting an Intel chipset board - I'm chucking my nforce 680i in the trash for a P35/ICH9R based board, just to run as vanilla as I can. Runing more then 1 core and more then 2Gs of ram, and I get network drops, SATA hangs, or kernel panics. with cpus=1 and maxmem=2048, I've finally gotten to be stable for more then 1 hour, in fact, been up for 24 hours now without network hangs (rtl8139) and installing, backing up, and web surfing. My new board should arrive mid-week - I'll post on how that goes.
