Billy Balloch
I just installed toast 9 titanium on my Hackintosh but when i try to start it the icon appears in the dock, bounces a few times then disappears. It's a real bummer coz Toast is the only good burning app for mac Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/108736-toast-9-titanium-problem/ Share on other sites
macguyver
I have exactly the same problem, i tried both Toast 8 and 9. I wrote a post here many times but nobody gave me a solution. I tried different AppleSMBIOS.kext files but that didn't help, i installed the PC_EFI V8 and Vanilla kernel, that didn't help... i updated my Kalyway 10.5.2 to 10.5.3 and that didn't help. Then i formatted the harddisk and installed Leo4Allv3, same problem. I then re-formatted and installed iATKOS v2, same problem. The thing which is driving me crazy is that i have all the commercial applications installed and running without any problems !! i am using Adobe CS3, iLife 08, Office 2008... no problem whatsoever !! I even made a full software update for iLife. If you find a solution for Toast 9 please let me know ! ZeroColl
I had the same problem.. the problem whit me was, that i didn't have hardware graphics acceleration enabled, when I loaded the correct kext for my graphics card it worked again. The same thing stopped my iWork installation too. kplain
I had this problem and the solution I found made no sense but here goes. I had issues with several programs doing exactly as you stated bouncing in the dock then shutting down or stopping. It turned out that as soon as I swapped out my old ATI 2400pro with an 8600XT XXX all the programs that had this issue began to work. Odd I know but evidently it had something to do with the drivers or capabilities of the ATI card. Tiger direct has the 8600XT on sale for 69.00 after instant rebate and mail in rebate. MR2nice
This was exactly the same thing I experienced. I tried almost everything suggested from Roxio's own forum to uninstalled, reinstalled, update CDRom firmware, etc. The thing I found out was that it worked on 10.5.2 but after you update it to 10.5.3 it will bounce a couple of times on the Dock and then disappeared. I tried Toast 8 and 9. Both failed after the update. However, all of my other softwares are perfectly fine. With that, here's what fixed my issue: I installed the NVInstallerV.41.pkg using Pacifist and selecting my video card RAM (256) along with the frameworks package and kexts. After that I rebooted and installed Roxio 9 again and to my surprise it finally launches completely and now works fine. macguyver
I have eVGA GeForce 8600 GT 1Gb DDR2. I installed NVInstallerV.41.pkg and selected 768 for memory option, After reboot, it gives me blank screen. Any ideas how to fix this ? or how to remove the driver? I had to take it out and use the built-in Intel GMA 3000 graphics card so atleast i can see my desktop Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/108736-toast-9-titanium-problem/#findComment-771903 Share on other sites
Erño
The problem is maybe that your vid card doesn't have QE/CI enabled. Get them to work and toast will work too. Simple answer Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/108736-toast-9-titanium-problem/#findComment-771940 Share on other sites

alui
I have a 8500 geforce and there seems to be no drivers for it yet, so the version i'm using is 7.1.3 and it installs and works. macgirl
Toast 8 and 9 need QE, so if you dont have it you better run Toast 7, running with rosetta can make some things very slow (video recodes).
