I just installed iMovie 08 on my Hackintosh as part of iLife 08. Every app works except for iMovie. When i open it up i just keep on getting a message telling me that my graphics card is not compatible with quartz extreme. My graphics card model is the ATI Radeon HD 2600 Pro (PCI Express).

iMovie and other video editing softwares require a feature called "Quartz Extreme" to be enabled. Its something like DirectX on windows. Even though you are getting 16 million colors and 1024x768 resolution, you will find that its only using a generic driver. Unless the proper driver (kext) file is loaded, this feature will not be enabled. Go to "About this Mac > More Info > Graphics / Displays", you will find something like this:

Display:

Type: Display

Bus: PCIe

PCIe Lane Width: x16

VRAM (Total): 32 MB

Vendor: NVIDIA (0x10de)

Device ID: 0x0402

Revision ID: 0x00a1

Displays:

Display:

Resolution: 1024 x 768

Depth: 32-bit Color

Core Image: Software

Main Display: Yes

Mirror: Off

Online: Yes

Quartz Extreme: Not Supported

You can read this post to see how it can be enabled (good luck)
