I hope this is in the proper forum, if not, mods: please move (couldn't find anywhere better)

I'd really like to make my own "Release" like kalyway or iATKOS, what are some good resources? Mostly, I'd like to use it for reinstalling my own OS (with proper drivers and Apps and such), but I'd also like to add my own apps to the utilities menu so I can fix some stuff directly from the installer (in addition to disk utility and the like). I'd be happy to release it in the end for all the Bad Axe 2/Radeon HD owners.

I'm not expecting a long "How To" (although that would be great), but I'd really like a link to some "How Tos". I do have a lot of experience with OS X and terminal, but I don't really know how to poke around the installs.

Thanks in advance. :(

it's actually quite simple. i've actually made my own release for my laptop. if you want to install your stuffs from the installer menu, u need to install xar to extract the OSInstall.mpkg and modify the distribution file. and use iceberg to create your own package.

Thanks, exactly what I was looking for.

I really appreciate it.

H chasofire,

here are two links, which could be useful for you: http://forum.insanelymac.com/index.php?sho...c=91778&hl=

Awesome, I passed over "The Genius Bar" because it seemed more like tech support (which I this is, but I'm trying to make something instead of fixing).

Also, if anybody is running Leopard or 10.4.11 and is trying to build Xar from source, use 1.5.1 instead of 1.5.2, it won't build using the latest version of Xcode.
