(MoC)
Well, I love this laptop as much as I do anything else. There's just one thing that bugs me. My screen is 14" and it only supports 1024x768. I was wondering if it was possible to force the LCD into 1024x1280 or some other higher 4:6 resolution. And no, I'm not talking about a virtual desktop. Thanks, MoC
iPirate
Well you can, but it tends to be annoying as everything outside of the 1024x768 area is off-screen. I speak from experience. Although it would be nice to have the sort of display that Apple Remote Desktop shows when you're viewing a higher-resolution system scaled down to fit your screen. Thanks, MoC I think you misunderstand how LCD screens work. It's not as simple as a limitation of the OS or drivers, an LCD screen is actually composed of literal dots that are exactly, in your case, 1024 dots by 768 dots (for a total of 786,432 max dots), and this could only be intervened by possibly finding a higher resolution screen that's the exact same size, which would be next to impossible. The problem is that Apple used cheap LCD's for their iBook line. If you need better, I'd suggest it's far past time to upgrade to a MacBook. Thing is that I was on the net looking for some iBook G4 thing and stumbled over that. Some people said it possible but I know about the pixel theory. Thanks again . This thread may now be closed.
