Sorry to repost, there's another thread on this topic that doesn't come up with the search term "p1620" hopefully this one will!

Well, here's the good news....

Kalyway 10.5.2 is working on the P1620.

see here for updates http://wiki.osx86project.org/wiki/index.ph...#Lifebook_P1620

Here's what works:

Booting:

- triple boots fine (GRUB-> Vista, OS X, Ubuntu) with any kernel (including speedstep)

Graphics: GMA 945

- Quartz Extreme and GL enabled

- Dual monitor mode OK, mirroring corrupts display however!

- very fast (much faster than Vista!)

- no LCD brightnesss control but display does sleep properly

Power

- sleep OK

- shutdown doesn't power off

- restart fine

Audio

- Output OK with AppleHDAPatcher, but can't turn off internal speaker separately

- USB audio in OK

Connectivity

- Gigabit ethernet OK with edited Yukon kext

- no internal wifi but USB Ralink G works (some crashes at high transfer rates)

- Bluetooth 100% working, including bluetooth ppp

Usability

- recognises touch screen (haven't worked out how to calibrate yet)

- runs fast

- keyboard, mouse-stick work fine

- keyboard function keys OK

- LCD screen function keys not mapped

Here's what needs work:

- screen rotation for LCD (works for external monitor !?)

- SD card slot

- PCMCIA

- modem

Overall impression:

I haven't booted into Vista for weeks, this machine flies and weighs about 1.2kg,

I think the touchscreen calibration can be fixed.... have drivers working but can't get HID to give up control.... any ideas appreciated

Also, does anyone know if there is internal mini-pci in this computer... would like to replace the internal wireless card.

Youtube video coming soon!

Hey man,

Nice job... you got Leo working hey? Awesome! ...but my Asus R2H has a 7" tablet screen and Jas Tiger 10.4.8 (+updated to 10.4.12) on it which I think makes it the smallest Tablet Mac. same weight as the Air and I use the apple bluetooth wireless keyboard and mouse with it. I have a TC4200 HP tablet as well which runs Kaly Leo 10.5.1(+some updates) like a champ... faster than my black macbook 2nd gen curiously(?) I havnt found a solution for screen rotation yet but im watching for one...

Kudos to Jas, Kalyway and the TabletMagic forum guys!

May the Force be with you!

I used the following information to get the Ethernet working (check your card's harware number):

you will have to edit the Info.plist inside the AppleYukon2.kext which is inside the IONetworkingFamily.kext/Contents/PlugIns.

Change the following:

<key>Yukon-88E8053</key>

TO:

<key>Yukon-88E8050</key>

Change the following:

<string>Yukon Gigabit Adapter 88E8053</string>

TO:

<string>Yukon Gigabit Adapter 88E8050</string>

Change the following: (Most important)

<string>0x436211AB</string>

TO:

<string>0x436111AB</string>

Repair Permissions then reboot.

load ethernet settings change to off then dhcp auto might need a restart of pc not the router etc... even though it says restart the router just restart the pc.

You should now have a working ethernet adapter!
