00diabolic
My experience with all leopards has been a lot like this: I've never seen one in the wild, and I remember feeling really sorry for this one. HA HAAA! Hager you are so mean. But it is so funny and soooooooo many people on this forum never search to find there answers. I love superhai tag line about not searching. "Shooting before asking is bad, reading before asking is good!" It could be slightly better though: Shooting before asking is bad, researching & reading before asking is good! nunocubal
i did my research, over and over and i only found difrent answers. in some topics they say its impossible to get sound with alc861 in others they refer to azalia. i've tryed azalia audio and tarugas patcher and nothing changed. i just need a push in right direction:) many thanks Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/105720-my-experience-with-all-leopards-os/#findComment-752777 Share on other sites
00diabolic
No you did not search well enough. Not to be mean but do you realize how many people do exactly what you do. Dont search or dont read and post a topic that has been covered 100's of times. There are at least 5 topics I can think of about 861/862 audio and i found all of them through searching. That is exactly the same codec I have. You could search just for topics I have responded to and find it in mins. Hagar
I'm sorry if you saw the above as a comment on your English nonocubal, that was not my meaning, and the original title "My experience with all leopards" was perfectly fine. After 100 or so posts like yours, I simply ran out of ideas for how to respond, and tried something original. It seems a lot of people take the route of installing & reinstalling different DVDs hoping to find one that will "make everything work" and then post asking for help rather than using the forum as it was meant, as a resource base. I don't have an alc 861 myself, but I know that the beta4some861_880Installer.zip from the AppleHDA Forum was the only one that worked for my alc860. have you tried that? nunocubal
hi i already tried that one and no results. i found out that my codec is alc861/660 and i used the taruga pacher v20 with f3jc 861/660 dump file post in this site and i had some results, the sound icon no is on the bar and on the settings menu i have sound, line out and digital out and i have micro on input...but i still have no sound at all. when i install azalia i have no sound devices, with the installer post above i have hd audio buit in but no sound at all too. what should i do now? thanks Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/105720-my-experience-with-all-leopards-os/#findComment-754611 Share on other sites

nunocubal
hello, finally i manage to get sound:) after i tryed almost everything i just put the appleHDA.kext and the ALCinject.kext in extensions folder repair permitions and then instaled the beta4some861_880Installer and thats it...the music strarted to play:)but when i rebooted i had no sound again so i did the same thing and erased the azalia.kext and everything its ok now even headphones (but a little noisy). just one more thing, i cant cut or paste files in my internal and external disk(my mac os is installed on a external disk)is because they are in ntfs isent it? thanks Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/105720-my-experience-with-all-leopards-os/#findComment-759944 Share on other sites
00diabolic
Well looks like you did find some good stuff but like myself taruga's 861/862 packaged patches dont work. Did you search through the topics I posted to about 861? If you did did you see this one: http://forum.insanelymac.com/index.php?sho...60&start=60 That is the only appleHDA that works for me. All others do not. You wont have volume control though. We need a new linux dump to get that. Amp-Out Mixer is what is missing from the dumps. By any chance does your linux dump have "Amp-Out Mixer"? 00diabolic
my linux codec dump... did you manage to get wirelless working?i'm still trying i have a volume control (the volume icon) and thats enough for me...could be something that related some keys to some commands that way we could control sound. see ya You dont have Amp-Out Mixer in there. It only shows up in some of the really new linux builds. Are you saying you have volume control or dont have volume control? If you do can you please attache your AppleHDA.kext as I would like to give it a try on my machine. Currently I do not have volume control and can not find a linux dump that has Amp-Out Mixer for my sound codec (ALC861/862).
