romey-rome
USB Notification: The device "EHCI Root Hub Simulation" @ 0xfd000000 has caused an overcurrent condition. The hub it is attached to has been disabled. That shows up in the logs & in a pop-up window after boot. There is nothing plugged into the hub it is talking about. Just the headers to the front of my Sonata. Ports still seem to work though... KennyTheGeek
That means that theres pulled to much power from the USB host, each USB device can work in 3 modes, the "powered by host" mode can only pull 500 mA, while the other ones can pull less. Either its true, to much power use, or a driver failure Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/10556-usb-has-caused-an-overcurrent-condition/#findComment-234827 Share on other sites

USB is working, even 2.0 High speed, is the device unknown? I'ts on an Intel 865g motherboard. Thanks. For overcurrent condition and for power management there are some workarounds inside the driver and it depends on DeviceID. The drivers works independent on real chip but show warning to you about some possible problems. For example fire flash Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/10556-usb-has-caused-an-overcurrent-condition/#findComment-985085 Share on other sites

alegzs
Have the same problem, on a... MacBook Pro (sorry guys). Using this tool : "/Developer/Applications/Utilities/USB Prober.app" installed from XCode informs me that 0xFD000000 is about high speed EHCI bus. I got the message 'overcurrent etc' almost every 30 secs here, when I touches my keyboard. The problem is the MBP I have is 17 inch and too big, so it's fragile... The USB ports inside probably have a problem. I want this message deleted as well..
