mega
Anyone know of a howto on upgrading your drive without a complete reload? I tried Carbon Copy Cloner, but the PC wont boot off the drive, invalid boot disk I'm thinking these hackintosh boot sectors may be different from what carbon copy cloner is used to dealing with Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/105453-drive-upgrade-howto/ Share on other sites

mschilling
With Acronis in XP I was able to clone a drive, but it would give me an error unless the new drive was larger. It worked fine cloning on to the larger hdd, but the new partition was the size of the smaller one, so you would then have to resize that partition to fill the new hdd giving you more room. I didn't try that. My system was MBR, and apparently GUID makes it easier to resize partitions. mega
I was able to use hdclone to copy my drive but I've not found a way to enlarge my 36 gig partition to fill up the drive, or at least take up another 100 gig suggestions on resizing hfs+ ? Gparted wont let me do it either Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/105453-drive-upgrade-howto/#findComment-751120 Share on other sites
