With Acronis in XP I was able to clone a drive, but it would give me an error unless the new drive was larger. It worked fine cloning on to the larger hdd, but the new partition was the size of the smaller one, so you would then have to resize that partition to fill the new hdd giving you more room. I didn't try that. My system was MBR, and apparently GUID makes it easier to resize partitions.

hatchery is a clone tool, I have a clone

all I need to do now is resize the partition to fill this 500 gig drive, right now I've only got 36 gig usable

no luck so far, disk utility wont let me create a partition either

2008-05-19 18:01:37 -0400: Partition failed for disk (null) The chosen size is not valid for the chosen filesystem.

Pretty sure this 0 byte partition is not supposed to be there, but I cannot remove it for some reason, and diskutil does not see it

diskutil list /dev/disk0

/dev/disk0

#: TYPE NAME SIZE IDENTIFIER

0: GUID_partition_scheme *465.8 Gi disk0

1: Apple_HFS 0.0 B disk0s3

2: EFI 200.0 Mi disk0s1

3: Apple_HFS Leopard 34.2 Gi disk0s2
