I've tried the different command lines.

Should My hardrive be the first then my dvd-rom be second in the ide?

The problem is that my XP install does not load if i switch the ide cables.

anyways, I have a p4 with hyperthreading, the cpu id program says I have sse3.

I have a asus board with on-boardsound as well as a nvidia fx5700 card, and if i need to will try out the on board video.

it also gave a error i think

inb_ifatch_linklocal address

and some other similar stuff.

i'm going to do more searches now

thanks

edit

if i let it try to install it gives the apple logo with the familar animated circle thing (i miss my old imac :)

after a while that it looks like it is loading it gives a pic of a sqaure thing with a no symbol. guess it can't find this root device, the harddrive correct?

Have you tried putting the install HD on the master, and the DVD drive as slave on the same cable? I believe in some situations, OS X seems to like that configuration for installing (though it didn't bother my install) and you can always change it back after install. Worth a shot. :dev:
