hello all peeps and OSX 86'erz !! :D

anyhoo i installed Leopard 10.5.2 (kalyway) on a blank 160Gb samsung sata drive.

the installer was a breeze and no probs at all.

i booted onto my desktop normal. i needed a reboot so i ejected my kalyway dvd, and when i booted up again i got :

HFS partition error

but if i boot with the dvd in my drive i can boot normal with no probs, can anybody suggest a good guide i can read or a workaround for this, i really like leopard. !!! :D

cheers

start your computer wait till it goes to the count down and press F10 or F8 I don't remember which one

fdisk -e /dev/disk0

f 1

That is all that you have to do each line above represents a command

just do that and you will be fine.

When you partition your hdd in disk utility if you do 1 partition (the whole hdd) then obviously it is 1 partition if you did more than one then you would essentially have different partitions i.e. 2 partitions would show up as two hdd's in OS X. Same as it would in Windows

BTW what distro are you using? I haven't had to activate a partition since Zephyroth's 10.5.1. Try using a newer distro such as Leo4All and Kalyway both are Amd/Intel. If you have a Amd build I would suggest Zephyroth's 10.5.2 Rev. 2. All have built in bootloaders just choose MBR (Master Boot Record) during disk utility and during the customization of the install and you should be problem free. Good luck!
