I downloaded an ISO of the 10.4.4 off a bit torrent site.. (Mac OS X Tiger 10 4 4 X86-HOTiSO). I burned it to a DVD... did the install and it went all the way through and when it came up to reboot it gave me some missing file error on a black screen.

the file that is showing to be missing is: '/com/apple.Boot.plist'

I've tried this on 2 different HP type PCs. an HP d530c business PC and a VL420 business PC. Both are fairly recent PCs with intel chipsets and P4 processors that are 2.8+ Ghz in speed.

Has anyone else tried this ISO??

I'd like to see this install correctly with no errors so I can play around with it and determine if I wanna go out and buy a MACintel PC.

If anyone can provide some help, I'd greatly appreciate it...

That means that the boot loader is not finding it's configuration file com.apple.boot.plist. If this happens try booting from the DVD after you've installed, opening Terminal.app, and doing the following:

cp /Library/Preferences/SystemConfiguration/com.apple.boot.plist /Volumes/YourHardDrive/Library/Preferences/SystemConfiguration/com.apple.boot.plist

This will at least get you booting, but some weird things might happen since you will be using the boot loader config fot the DVD to load the OS on the hard drive. Search the forum for com.apple.boot.plist for information on editing and replacing this file.

I have the same image with exactly the same problem! Dunno what to do so if anybody knows... Youll be making 2 people happy :)

Forgot to mention..

In the installer selection section you can select stuff where maxxus name is in. Like: We stole it. and Maxxus onwns the f**s or something. This makes pretty clear to me that the image is pre-patched
