Boot Camp
I want to put a radiator in my case, but there is no room above do to my multi media case top. I have plenty of room at the bottom if I move up the hard drive rack though (I have enough room for a Black Ice GTX480 with room to spare ). I'm wondering what would be the best way to cool the radiator, push or pull? And can I just leave the rad laying at the bottom of the case or is there some way of mounting it (preferably without drilling holes, a shroud of some sort?). I'm also looking for a drive bay mount. vaporATX
I never mount rads inside the case. Mount it on the backplane or top. Look at some overclocking/mod sites for ideas. As far as fans go... Push: air back pressure against the rad fins; small distance between fan and fins does not allow for a proper laminate airflow (read turbulent air); lower-CFM needed, since air mass is at fan intake. Pull: no back pressure against fins; lamintate airflow at rad intake; higher-CFM fan needed since air mass is further away from fan intake. Always pull. I read this once but did not now the reason why. Thanks vaporATX. vaporATX
There's a lot of argument on the push/pull issue. I just sit in the pull camp. Truthfully the difference isn't all that great.
