Noid
Hello Peeps, I have a question. I have installed the DVD version of 10.4.4 and the installtion goes all well until I reboot. Once the PC reboots I get an error saying system config file '/com.apple.boot.plist' not found. Can anybody tell me why this is happening? And if there is a fix can somebody point me in the right direction to where I can obtain the fix? Thanks Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/10493-1044/ Share on other sites
Eggman
That's rather odd. Check to see if you have a file named com.apple.Boot.plist in /Library/Preferences/SystemConfiguration. If you don't, post again and I can give you mine, which should work fine. Noid
How would I check that if I already installed it? And how would I add that file to the installation? Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/10493-1044/#findComment-65776 Share on other sites

Eggman
How would I check that if I already installed it? And how would I add that file to the installation? If you have Windows on there, you'll need to get MacDrive to see it. That, or get a Linux LiveDVD. If you don't have it, all you have to do is put it there; MacDrive doesn't respect permissions, and it's easy to fix them in Linux. i have the same problem here, the thing is i cant reboot after installation, it says 20 seconds to reboot, counts down, after that the loading circle comes and doesnt stop, only hard reset works, then i restart and it says the same error (only when dvd is inside, if not, nothing displays) i have the install dvd 10.4.4 The spinning thing is a problem I think everyone has. As for the error message, try the same thing I told Noid. Actually, did you both try the Chinese patch? I never used it, but that may be causing a problem. Rockviech
why hyperthreading? does it has to be turned off? and, why does it take so long to load? it takes 2 minutes to start the installation (grey apple logo, loading circle) installation takes only 20-30 minutes Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/10493-1044/#findComment-65802 Share on other sites
shedt
i read that for installation yes it should be turned off, then try turning it back on after. Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/10493-1044/#findComment-65806 Share on other sites

Eggman
Once the spinning icon appears, just wait for the hard drive light to turn off, then you can safely hit the restart button. I don't think what I'm uploading is against the rules, because it's just a boot file, but if it is, please get rid of it! Thanks mods! Unfortunately, I had to change the file extension to "txt". Just manually change it "plist". com.apple.Boot.txt Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/10493-1044/#findComment-65830 Share on other sites
