after acidentally disconnecting the powerchord, my mini won't boot anymore ...

date+time home com.apple.launchd[1] (com.apple.mDNSResponder[i++]): posix_spqwnp("/usr/sbin/mDNSResponder", ...): No such file or directory

any suggestions regarding this?

Not anybody?

ahh .. common ... I know that there are some folks here that can tell what this error is about .. I like to understand it and don't like to fix it by reinstalling the whole thing.

I hooked the Mini up to my Hack using targetmode and checked the volume ... it seems to be okay, but checking rights was impossible.

Any clue? Please ... just some little hint ;-)

/sbin/fsck -fy
/sbin/mount -uw /
fsck_hfs /dev/disk0

should be the correct sequence...

but it returns:

** /dev/rdisk0 (NO WRITE)

What am I doing wrong?

The Volume is "HFS CASE SENSITIVE" formated as proposed by the installer.

Does this make any difference in the repair procedure?

hmm ...

I checked for the missing file in /usr/sbin ...

mDNSResponder and mDNSResponder Helper are there, have correct size and the rights are set identical to the files on my other macs.

hmpf...

hmmm ... I think 2 days earlier ...

and yes, for all I know I agree with you that the same problem will have showed up on the next reboot.

I had no time for it yesterday and today but tomorrow I will give it a second try.

Is there any way to just "repair" the basic install and keep the settings that I made to the server. Especially the users and permissons for the volumes I share?
