firesoldier845
I had an Asus P5B motherboard and CPU running Kalyway 10.5.1 patched to 10.5.2 - Just upgraded to GA-P35-DS3L motherboard with new 3.0ghz CPU , 4 gigs DDR1066 Ram, 500 GB Seagate HD SATAII. Anyway, I loaded Kalyway 10.5.1 a on my GA-P35-DS3L following instructions exactly as per the instructions in a few of the guides here on the forums. Kalyway lock up halfway through install and would not finish. I have several DVD drives IDE and SATA and tried each of them. Only the IDE drive would load Kalyway which I was kinda suprised the lockups with SATA DVD. I did a few installs and reinstalls with Kalyway 10.5.1 and had some issues so I tried Leo4ALLV2. Leo4ALLV2 loaded fine and install works. Anyone familiar with Leo4ALLV2 do I have to patch the sound with the AppleHDA 1.20 or is that already done if I select the correct audio driver in Leo4allV2? I am pretty happy with Leo4ALLV2 seems to worked for me. Well day after I finally get it done V3 of LEO4ALL comes out and I try it and it locks up with less then 1 minute left in the install every time I try and install it. So I went back to V2 and it is working. Anyone else able to get V3 to install? I must be selecting something wrong in the setup or something or have an incorrect BIOS setting. Any help or suggestions? I do have a working setup with LEO4ALLV2 but not sure if there is anything I need to do or KEXTs that need to be installed or replaced for my GA-P35-DS3L after installing V2. thanks Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/104832-ga-p35-ds3l-helpadvice/ Share on other sites

eddie11c
Its the RAM bug, boot with maxmem=2048 or remove 2 GB just for install. Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/104832-ga-p35-ds3l-helpadvice/#findComment-746459 Share on other sites
firesoldier845
i have the same motherboard. what is your full specs? Maybe we can help you =] GA-P35-DS3L latest bios I think its 8F or something like that 2 X 2gb GSKILL DDR2 1066 RAM (4 gigs) Seagate 500GB SATAII HD on SATA0 port eVGA 8800GTS 320mb Antec Trupower TRIO (I think its a 540watt) PSU Lian-Li Alum Case NEC IDE DVD burner on IDE port or can switch with Samsung SATA DVD burner (but install locks up with SATA drive) For the most part LEO4ALLV2 works perfectly, everything is updated as far as Apple update goes and sound, network, etc is all working. I manually installed a couple of KEXT files to remove the orange drive color from my HD as per Motho's guide. Otherwise everything is as a regular LEO4ALLV2 install with vanilla kernel. Shutdown does not work but that doesn't bother me atm. The main thing I want to know is do I have to update anything else from V2 since V3 doesn't seem to install for me? Also is there a guide or something out there with all the darn pre-boot commands or whatever incase I nerf up this install? I am totally clueless as far as terminal goes for doing things. cheers EDIT: Was wrong about everything working - whenever I got to burn a CD or DVD computer locks up - going to try the SATA DVD drive and see if it makes a difference Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/104832-ga-p35-ds3l-helpadvice/#findComment-746518 Share on other sites
