after searching forum it semms lots of ppl have between 30-45 second boot times. Bott seems to take forever on this NForce430 motherboard and difference between xbench results is 50 with and without drive. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated

Thanx in advance

Hey LawlessPPC ,

Could we get a little more info. Like what errors (if any you get when you boot up using the -v command)? Thats how i solved alot of my issues. I had my firewire disable in the bios (even though i dont use it ) when i turned it on it saved me some time. Also alot of other kexts i didnt need like the ATI ones and intelGMA ones i removed. I have the Asus P5N-D and that has the nForce i750 chipset. So i usally have to tinker with the install. Lets us know.

Best of luck!

thank you very much for your reply i will look into it further but previous booting in verbose any probs seem to be relating to ioata etc so i beleive its the nforce chipset im using but i will double check is there a way to slow down or pause the output in verbose.

Thanx in advance

I recently installed 10.5.1 zephyroth using shadow3k guide, on the same motherboard as you K9A2 CF with a phenom and an 8800gt, got it running all good except boot times are horrible also, about 4minutes to boot. I made a post on it here .. http://forum.insanelymac.com/index.php?showtopic=119056

LawlessPPC how is your boot times on your 10.5.4 install repack with this motherboard?
