  1. I just did, although it was quite quick but I didn't see any stand out errors. Where abouts is the log kept so i can access it to go through it more thoroughly?
  2. Hey mate, what do you mean the S/L/E ? I have Taruga appleHDA patcher v1.20 and applied it after successfully updating to 10.5.6 and it didn't work for me, still no audio. Everything else is working fine at the moment anyway.
  3. Hi mate. I don't know if this is too much of a newb idea but would it make a difference if you update from 10.5.5 to 10.5.6 via the combo update rather than through the 190mb software update? I ask because my macbook failed to install 10.5.6 via software update and would lock up, so I downloaded the combo update and it worked fine. Let me know if you have done it or not, because I will give it a go in a few hours - I have been away so have only got my macbook with me, the hack is at home. it is running the beta setup of the new guide also, so i can give it a shot unless you already have?
  4. Nope. unless it is the ds3L. I think pcwiz had a good guide for GA-P35 boards, otherwise maybe this might help .. http://forum.insanelymac.com/index.php?showtopic=130545
  5. I hope you didn't try to update the BIOS in windows! Did you do it through Q-Flash ?
  6. whoa. The icons look pretty. Can't wait for it to come out. I think ive been subscribed to this thread and the anandtech for the last few months. Can't believe how easy it was with your original boot-132 guide, I installed zephyroth on a mates K9A2 AMD phenom system a wile back and man I would not do it again. The P35-DS3L and your guide was just as easy as a fresh install of windows, can't imaging how much easier the new guide is going to be!
  7. Weaksauce.. any chance of the new boot-132 package coming out over the next two days .. ? I was hoping to have a fiddle around with it on my days off work.
  8. x86 Xbench Results Thread

    With Disk test I get 294.42. 9. ASUS WL-138G V2 drivers

It should just automatically be detected as an airport card. Although these cards have shockingly slow speeds.
  10. I used a boot-132 method (by weaksauce) to install retail leopard. Everything was fine, and 10.5.5 was perfect then after doing the jump to 10.5.5 I decided to install the other little updates that have since came out, one was an airport update. After installing it my wireless card is not detected in leopard. it worked perfectly before the update, and if I boot up with "-f" the wireless card works fine again. Is there a fix for this or am I better to reinstall and miss that update/forever type in -f at startup ? The wireless card (PCI) is an: Asus WL-138G V2
  11. Sounds awesome mate, that will be much appreciated among the community. I just got back from holidays and have thoroughly read the boot132 guide. Will be putting the PC together over the weekend and will give that method a shot, it sounds promising. I know this has been brought up before, although with the boot132 method are the silicon (i think it is called) PCI sata cards still fine? I have a VIA 6421 (used with the 360) although I am pretty sure they are not compatible unless anyone knows any different? So I am considering purchasing a silica chip card. I have ran out of sata ports ! I have 3 HDD and 1 DVD, I would like to add my kreon flashed drive so I can just boot into windows and read 360 discs. With 2x 500gb and 1x120gb SATA HDDs what would people recommend as a set up? Obviously seperate 500gb HDD for each OS (vista+osx) but i was thinking of partitioning probably 100:400 on both and using the 100 as purely the OS and the 400 as storage for important data, and the 120gb as purely the backup of my osx install. Anyone from experience can think of a more effective setup, or would what I suggested be fine? Thanks for everones help over the last few months, can't wait to get my system up and running, I have been a macbook enthusiast for quite some time so the power of an actual desktop over my laptop will probably blow my socks off.
  12. That would be great weaksauce if you could. Or if possible PM me links about your boot-132 guide? is it much different than cyberbuddhhah's guide? I am going away for 2 weeks (to the whitsundays (islands in the coral sea) if anyone knows much bout australia) and I will have all the final parts for my build when I get back, I was hoping to use the boot-132 method, have a retail disc etc. ready. Don't want too be left to far behind when I get home My final build will be: E7200 (ditched the Q6600 idea, as the Australian dollar is worth $%^# all at the moment, so they are about $300+ in Aus) 4gb 800 hyperX px7600GT - 256mb Obviously a GA-P35-DS3L picked up a 24" LCD and got a 120gb sata for backup + will get a 500gb sata I know people have said not to partition your install drive, but I am wondering as most the people who have had issues were bootin windows on the other partition can I safely partition a 500gb in two - 1 for osx install and the other partition in hfs still for storage, would that be safe? I want to store all my important data onto a seperate partition than the osx install incase something goes sour one day.
  13. Just a theory but I noticed the 10.5.5 update says it can only update from 10.5.1 up (10.5.0 is not mentioned). I also noticed cyberbuddah said he went from his retail disc which is 10.5.1 straight to 10.5.5 on his fresh install (a few posts back). So my theory is maybe you need to obtain a 10.5.1 retail disc and do the same combo 10.5.5 update, or try your 10.5.0 retail disc update to 10.5.1 (google 10.5.1 combo - its still on the apple site) then go straight for the 10.5.5 combo update. I don't have a system to test it at the moment so Kirtaner if you want to go for your 33rd attempt let me know how it goes. Keep in mind I haven't had a lot of experience with osx86 at the moment so it's possible my theory is complete bull$#!T
  14. Have you got macdrive of something similar to access the osx partition in vista? Could you just get into your mac HDD then go to System > Library > Extensions, then find the nvidia ones (back them up into windows, just in case then delete them) and try to boot, would that work ? EDIT: Is it a similar issue to this ..... http://www.insanelymac.com/lofiversion/ind...hp/t103417.html
  15. Are you using VGA or DVI out ? This guy has the exact same card as you and maybe might be the same problem? But if it gets to apple logo screen then black ... :S maybe not. It doesnt say the same message this guy says it is does it? On here http://www.insanelymac.com/lofiversion/ind...hp/t110570.html (second post)
