velayo
I'm using 10.4.5 with a pentium 4, 3.0 presscott (sse3, no nx, and PAE). My motherboard is a Gigabyte 845PE100 based on a intel 845 chipset. My graphics card is an ATI 9550. Everything works perfectly except for the fast user switching which freezes my computer and forces me to reboot manually. Is anyone else having this problem? username931
same here with ATI 9550 AGP. What drivers are you using? I use the modified Radeon9700.kext seen here: http://forum.osx86project.org/index.php?sh...c=10052&hl=9550. Have you tried the Callisto drivers or disabling CI and QE? velayo
I fixed it by installing the file included in this topic: http://forum.osx86project.org/index.php?sh...81entry110481 follow the instructions given by the author and you should be fine. By the way what osx86 are you using? With regards to Callisto v7 works perfect for me with almost no mouse tearing. username931
I just found that also. Apparently it was trying the cube effect. I use the method above and have limited mouse tearing. Have you tried both methods? I think I'll stick with what I have since its working 95% now. velayo
I can tell you that I have Callisto+QE/CI + the fix that I linked, and my system is working almost perfectly. Small artifacts when scrolling with the mouse but that's it. I also have the cube effect and I'm able to switch users on the fly. I use it all the time as my wife uses her own account and leaves mine on (computer is always on, it has been a long time since I rebooted my mac) Your 10.4.6 image came from JAS or the one from Myzar? username931
I'm can't find the torrent, but I remember it was called Hotiso and the file is called h-t1046.iso. Not sure 100% which patches are included, but it is great since it includes optional installs for most system configs. With modified ATIRadeon9700.kext and modded IOPCIFAMILY.kext ONLY: CI and QE MOUSE TEARING Dashborard + Chess 100% No Monitor Resolutions switching, set in com.apple.boot.plist (1280x1024x32@70) Cube Effect With Callisto and modded IOPCIFAMILY.kext: No CI or QE No Chess Dashboard slow + no effects No Cube effect Monitor Resolutions NO MOUSE TEARING With Callisto + modded ATIRadeon9700.kext + modded ATIRadeon9700GA.plugin (Callisto FAQ) + modded IOPCIFAMILY.kext: CI and QE Dashboard Effects No Cube Effect Monitor Resolutions MOUSE TEARING As you see 1+3 are the same except 1 has the cube effect and does not need Calisto but has no resolution switching. #2 is what I have now since it has no mouse tearing and I rarely use CI and QE. From there the only advances would have CI and QE but no mouse tearing. What do you use?
