I have successfully installed Kalyway 10.5.1 a couple times and I have searched and found the "Retail' installs tend to go to a separate hard drive. I want to go Retail.

Can a retail OSx be installed to another partition on the same hard drive and booted and remove the HACK version? No other OS will be run- no multibooting. ( The answer may be obvious, just not to me starting out :D )

Specs:

GA-P35-DS3L, Q6600, Geforce 7300 LE, 2 x 1GB adata DDR 800, 80GB WD SATA hard drive, SATA DVD burner, PCI LAN card

On the second install at F8 I entered ' vanilla', created two GUID partions- 'Leopard' ( diskOs2) 20 GB, 'Retail' ( diskOs3) 54.1 GB, 'Customized' with vanilla kernels, NVInject and BOOT_efi_guid, skipped registration with "Windows" key + Q and all is well...

When the desktop came up it asked if I wanted "Retail" for Time Machine backups- said No, the Geforce 7300LE is seen and at correct 1280x1024 resolution, PC seen as MacPro @ 3.29GHz (correct overclock) w/ 2 GB memory...

Shut down works, restart works, all 4 cores are seen, machine is snappy, Safari works etc.

I have not had to do any terminal work to this point, just point and click so the experience has been very positive so far.

Thanks!

If I can use the same hard drive but different partition to install retail OSx how do I go about it?

Is there a guide I can follow given I am not starting from scratch and have Kaly working- jump the line on the install so to speak and start further along a proven posted install method?

Thanks again :(
