Hello!

I know it sounds basic, but I don't know how to make screenshots!

Nor do I know which app to paste it to (if that is needed)

Please reply with the answer to my question

Thanks in advance,

Or if you don't want people to see Grab in the menubar in your screenshot and know you're a newb:

Command+Shift+3 to capture the desktop

Command+Ctrl+Shift+3 to capture your desktop to the clipboard so you can paste it into the app of your choice.

Command+Shift+4 to capture a selection by dragging a box around it

Command+Shift+4 and tap the spacebar. The cursor will change to a camera and allow you to capture individual application windows.

You can modify the shortcut keys in Keyboard/Mouse settings in System Preferences. I made them just like it's under Windows:

(PrtScrn=F13)

F13: Copy the whole screen to clipboard

cmd(alt in PC keyboard)+F13: Copy the selected area to clipboard

opt(win in PC keyboard)+F13: Save the whole screen as a file

opt+cmd+F13: Save the selected area as a file
