twistkill
obviously i am new to this community and a noob in the world of hackintosh, but reading the forums i know that AMD + dual SATA Drives + NForce combo is one of the worst hurdles in installing Leopard. I can get Kalyway 10.5.2 to install on a usb drive, but it doesnt show up my hard drive partitions. I have tried other install dvds (iatkos r2, iatkos r2 patched to r3, zephyroth, leo4all v2 and v3..phew) but they all get stuck at either "still waiting for root device" or "jettisoning the kernel"..kalyway is the only one that let me as far as get to see my usb in the disk utility window and install...rest all ge stuck in the intial verbose mode.. i tried -v -x flags, but still no use... i already have vista installed..i created an 8gb partition in the 1st drive.. i know someone got this to work on a dv9000 laptop, but i guess it was an intel based... what could i have noobed? Gophish
I have Hp dv9210ca and I've tried Kalyway, Zeph, iatkos and Leo4all none of them worked. I had no problems installing Leo4all on a desktop with AMD and Kalyway on a system with Intel. Has anyone successfully install leopard on HP dv9000 Laptop with AMD cpu? redash
ok - same problem. I have hp dv6338se AMD Turion x64 x2 1.8 laptop. I have no options in bios to switch / disable ahci. I've got a successful leopard 10.5.1 machine on my compaq desktop (amd x2) Zephroph 10.5.1 media. I cloned this using acronis boot cd then I tried to force a clone of this to laptop sata drive. this gets me a lot further than trying to boot from disc.....I have latest AppleNForceATA but still no joy. I use 29-feb-2008: the applenforceata http://forum.insanelymac.com/index.php?showtopic=77071 but it returns found 0 drives when I boot from laptop. someone mentions here http://osx86leo4all.wikidot.com/forum/t-60...a-found-0-units "I have an HP tx1030la, almost similar to yours. I successfully got pasted the "AppleNForceATA found 0 units" by using the NforceChipset-test ( the one that speaks about SATA DVDs ) , ..., it works now" but I can't find the nforcechipset-test. am using -x ( safemode ) -v ( verbose) -f ( force past errors) interestingly had to use password on boot for my laptop to overcome problems with bootplist not found. I noticed inside the applenforceata plist.info has dev ids for a pata drive that match my ide controller. there goes another weekend.....sigghhhhh Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/102979-hp-dv9000-amd-nforce-satadrives-undetected/#findComment-835235 Share on other sites
offroadridr
I have the EXACT same problem, i have an HP dv9700z with an AMD Turion 64x2 2.0ghz cpu and an nForce 560 chipset. The only dvd I can boot into the graphical installer in is Kalyway 10.5.2 Intel_AMD, but whn i go to disk utility it won't find my SATA hard drive..... I also have no BIOS options besides Dedicated video memory, and boot order........ hz3k
Same problems (dv9375eu)! Someone mentioned USB DVD boot? I thought it's not supported by HP bios?! Because, my bios says: "USB Diskette on Key", "USB HDD" and "USB Floppy". I'm stuck at the very beginning ("System config file '/com.apple.Boot.plist' not found."), already tried Chameleon fix. -aKy-
on hp dv9000 (AMD Turion, 2x1.6 Ghz, Nforce 410/430 MCP51) got leopard 10.5.4 installed with new leo4all 4.1 amd and nforce test kext. u have to wait hell a long time until installer shows up, but hdd is recognized by disk utility. leopard installs, but only boots with dvd in drive for the moment, will fix that later. but on boot, it takes ages until the gui shows up, and it feels sluggish sometimes. that means, apps need ages to load, but once they loaded, they are fast as they shold be. in activity monitor is saw that one of the cpu's alwas has 100% load, the other one is normal. load is caused by kernel_task. rest of laptop seems to work flawlessly. sound, webcam, airport, lan, graphics seem to work ok. (lan means, it is detected and shown in the OS, didn't test functionality yet, there are other problems for me that need to be fixed first). So, if anyone has a suggestion about the cpu-load, help would be appreciated. cheers, aKy p.s.: forgot to mention: had to unplug the hdd of the notebook, put it into my working hackintosh and put the AppleNforceATA.kext into IOATAFamily.kext and deleted AppleNforceATA.kext from Extensions. It's now inside the IOATAFamily.kext ( /IOATAFamily.kext/Contents/PlugIns/AppleNforceATA.kext ) Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/102979-hp-dv9000-amd-nforce-satadrives-undetected/#findComment-888633 Share on other sites

twistkill
well you are in for some good news...since you have a dedicated video memory.. i have the same configuration except with a shared memory video chipset so my mac installation doesnt detect the monitor and its resolution apparently it works fine on a laptop with dedicated memory for video.. there is a thread somewhere that has some files which you have to inject into you the leov3 dvd image and then burn it...it should be in the leov3 release thread...lemme see if i can pin point it for you... http://forum.insanelymac.com/index.php?sho...3364&st=120 post #131 Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/102979-hp-dv9000-amd-nforce-satadrives-undetected/#findComment-994943 Share on other sites
StrungOut420
Wow! An actual, alive and breathing thread!! I've got an HP DV9074cl (see specs in sig), and I've tried Kalyway 10.5.2, iDeneb 10.5.5, Leo4All v4... and Zephyroth (sp?) 10.5.1... I've had no success with any of them... Kalyway 10.5.2 installs completely, and when it goes to reboot I get the gray screen with the white Apple logo and the spinning pinwheel... and then nothing. It just tells me I need to reboot my machine. I've gotten this version to recognize my trackpad and keyboard one time during the GUI Installer... All the other times I've gotten in, I've used a USB Mouse and no keyboard. Frustrating. Zephyroth sees my trackpad and keyboard on almost every boot into the GUI Installer, but it won't let me 'erase' (i.e. format) my second HDD. It always tells me that the "Volume is Unmountable" or something like that... I've even tried formatting the drive using Kalyway, and then rebooting using Zephyroth, but still no luck. I'm willing to try anything to get OSX86 to install on my machine, but so far it looks like it's no happening... But I'm definitely in on the discussion... twistkill
check out that link in my previous post...with leo4all v4.1..it helps in detecting the sata drives..then the rest depends on what package u choose to install/inject..so far everything except my graphics chipset is detected..so i cannot run osx at the sharpest resolution.. StrungOut420
Hmm... I'm going to try that procedure using Zephyroth first, and then I'll try doing it with the Leo4All... I'll post back after I get the chance to try it... italianstallion
okay i have a dv9610us with amd (specs in signature). getting it installed is no problem. go to Extensions.mkext then put it in the System/Library directory of your iso in place of the existing one with TransMac (google for it) then delete the folder System/Library/Extensions. Now it should boot and show the first 128gb of each drive in the disk utility. (the rest will show up once it is installed and booted im told). Now heres where the problem begins getting it to boot though. I keep getting the "Still waiting for root device" error once i have it installed. If anyone knows how to get it past this error im sure me and many others would appreciate it. redash
try setting a bios password. This will (/should) slow boot sequence to allow detection of devices. It's kinda strange but worked for me. P.S. sell that laptop ASAP. the amd chip is {censored}e. Sounds were horrible and performance tragic. I got the intel dv6500 but would recommend staying away altogether from that too. Too noisy & heat problems. HP pavillions have a heat design problem on core chipset. They run too hot. There's nothing you can do to fix this. Check out hp noisy fan post on youtube. and also run speedfan in windows to verify the problem. poptart629
Brand spanking new member and I thought it'd be great for my first post if I told you that I have a HP DV9700 Series with a functioning OSX86 Kalyway Install onboard AMD TurionX2 64 1.8GHz 4gb RAM, NvidiaGO 8400 graphics 2x160GB HDD (One Windows 7, the other Kalyway 10.5.2 Dual Boot with Chamelon Bootloader) The Kalyway detected both of my HDDs without any issues, I installed OSX on the first HDD in the system it took fooooooorever to install, then it rebooted and I got the "Waiting For Root Device". Now here's the cool part. The night I was installing OSX, it was about 2am. I was literally nodding off at my desktop trying to search for a solution to the OSX Boot problem. When I awoke, the system had booted into OSX!!!! It's just a matter of time. I'm assuming that the thing is timing out and then booting some kind of legacy mode or something. I'm a PC Geek by trade so I cannot be sure. once it boots tho (and this seems strange) I can't tell the difference in how it runs. the performance seemed fine. nice and snappy, plays video fine, surfs the net, wireless & sound support etc. I rebooted and replicated the whole very very slow boot process again (nearly 40 + mins) but once booted it functions fine. Where I need help is with a lesson on how to inject the proper SATA Kexts into the functioning OSX install. can anybody help?? Thanks In Advance!!!
