Ok, I dont know if it is important, or if someone else did it before or what. But right now I have installed MAC OSX SERVER 1.5 over a Leopard 10.5.2 (the Kaliway one) workstation hackintosh.

Besides a 6.7 Gb download, the original OSX SERVER installs directly over the workstation (no boot condition or else)

Reboot, standard configuration, register serial, you know. Then, voila ! a pretty server running smooth, consuming no more than 12-17% of the core processor, running on a laptop core 2 duo, 2 gb ram, dual monitor, hd 120 gb with nvidia 7300 go 256 mb ram.

Ok, here is the profile (check that I have a lot of a hell connected via usb and bluetooth and wifi with this laptop.

Ok, system profile and sweet dreams

Hey guys,

I don't know if either of you (or anyone else) still have Mac OS X Server 10.5 running on your computer, but I would be interested to know if you managed to update to 10.5.3 . I was wondering if there are any problems installing the 10.5.3 update onto an OSX86 box. Also, I was wondering if you simply did an upgrade from the Kalyway version of Leopard using a retail Mac OS X Server 10.5 disc, or if you did a clean install using the retail disc only and there were additional steps involved. Please let me know, your help is much appreciated!

I did this install the other day on a Shuttle K45 Barebones. Although all the apps appear to work, simply upgrading to Leopard Server OS X from the Kalyway 10.5.2 seems to cause a lot of errors. In standard configuration, the Server Preferences weren't accessible. Not only that, but any attempts to update back to 10.5.2 (either through Apple Server 10.5.2 combo update) or Kalyway's 10.5.2 combo update caused the entire install to get corrupted and kernel panic on startup. My advice would be to install straight from the retail DVD, if at all possible. Simply retrofitting Mac OS X Server on top of the Kalyway install is just too risky for anyone not wanting to lose their data without warning. Hope this helps!

Actually I am managing it quite well, but you know, sometimes it's a matter of luck
