cringemaster
Well my Mac Mini crapped out when my friend tried to assassinate my Mac using a slightly warped CD in it that made a horrifying noise. Once I managed to get it out (don;t ask me how, the process still makes my skin crawl) I found that my mini will no longer read CD's or DVD's that require its read/write head to move past around halfway across a disc. Heres the dilemma. I need to install windows so that I can install autocad 2008 and finish a project, but windows doesn't want to boot from my external usb dvd drive. Any ideas? cringemaster
I have tried and neither the firmware boot selector (the option key) or rEFIt will not recognize as a boot device. ~pcwiz
Do you have AppleCare? If so, just take it to the Apple store and get them to replace the drive. Or if you have the know how, open up your mac mini and replace the drive yourself.
