Hello there.

I'm quite new to this and so far I had my share of good a bad luck.

After going through 4 different installation dvds, the Kalyway 10.5.1 worked just fine.

Now, then I upgraded it using KalywayIntelCombo10.5.2.

After the upgrade, the boot time takes almost 5 times longer that previously.

I searched the forum and every time someone appears with this problem, its given the same solution: to install a new kernel.

Well I downloaded the Kalyway 10.5.2 All Kernels pack and most of them don't work.

Every time I install one, it bricks my installation, requiring me to go through the leopard setup process all over again.

First of all, is there a way to recover the previous kernel install to avoid installing the OS all over again?

Second, regarding the machine I'm working with:

ASUS Notebook Z92JC

Intel Core Duo T2250 (Centrino Duo)

MMX, SSE, SSE2, SSE3

Motherboard Model A6JC

Intel Chipset i945PM

nVIDIA GeForce 7300 GO 512MB TB

Which kernel should work here?

Hi Murteira_Nabo,

I was in the same place than you.

I decided to return to 10.5.1 and forget to go up to 10.5.2.

No reason, no pros to go to 10.5.2. Only long bootup time.

Important note: I'm not a computer nerd.

If both of you would take the time to search and read you wouldn't be having any issues with this simple upgrade. Your problems are documented and solved in multiple threads on mutiple forums. That's why you aren't getting any replies. :)

I've searched, I've been searching for days before I actually registered to post my question.

Can you please link to those solutions? Because the only solution I've found was to update the kernel and each different kernel just bricks OSX.

Or is there more to update a kernel?

Ok, all these kernels resulted in panic.

kernel_9.2_sleep

kernel_9.2_speedstep

kernel_9.2_kabyl

kernel_9.2_nforce

kernel_9.2_modin

kernel_vanilla_922

Hell, I've tried all of these, even knowing some shouldn't work by principle.

Please, I really want to update my Kalyway install to 10.5.2 but without the proper kernel, it boots terribly slowly.

I've searched and searched for a solution here. If there is one, please, link it!
