Diseal3
*sigh* Everything was running great then I went for EFI. Now Mac part boots and well my windows part. does not. It gives me an error saying check drivers and such, leading me to believe it was the EFI. Thanks!, Diseal3 Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/100931-how-to-uninstall-efi/ Share on other sites

Anyone correct me if I'm wrong. Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/100931-how-to-uninstall-efi/#findComment-720099 Share on other sites
zuz_242
me guess would be that the problem is caused by an broken windows masterbootrecord. deleting some efi files on the osx partition should not affect windows.. maybe using "fixmbr" with win does the trick (as long as mbr but not guid is used on the harddisk, as guid partitions are not windows compatible) Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/100931-how-to-uninstall-efi/#findComment-720674 Share on other sites

fassl
the pc_efi is a modified darwin bootloader and therefore shouldnt affect your windows boot at all if u installed it correctly to uninstall it search for a standard darwin bootloder (file is called boot and should be in /usr/standalone/i386) /usr/sbin/startupfiletool /dev/rdiskXsY /usr/standalone/i386/boot should uninstall it again Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/100931-how-to-uninstall-efi/#findComment-721213 Share on other sites
