here is my codec dump from asus n71vg (alc663) with two headphones jack

i use a patched applehda but it lost sound (present in sys pref) if i stop and reboot the laptop,not only reboot

had a bit of a prob today with the 10.10.3 update.  obviously the update replaced the AppleHDA.kext and when I ran Version 2.5 it removed the new AppleHDA but didn't replace it with the patched version.  Not sure what I did wrong ... just thought I'd report it.  Ran Version 2.5 again...it installed VooDooHDA....fixed everything with pacifist and kext wizard.

the getcodec id indicates Realtek ALC885/889a

tried all suggested enablers = all give same output/inputs enabled but unfortunately no sound at all from speakers only with suggested 9 had headphone working.. 

VoodooHDA enables also all output/inputs even HDMI but again this time i have Only headphone + LineOut working, and sounds terrible...

Well thanks, but the only noticeable difference is the output inverted, what in previous version mapped the headphones is now on Speakers, and as before even all others inputs/outputs are present even hdmi now, no sound.

 

the half good news for me is anyway that installing 10.10.4 i could manage to reinstall an old HDA 1.8.4 and adding ALC889a.kext (injector) sound is back as it should, unfortunately no HDMI but i can survive i guess,
